This is Maddie. She helps people keep their life story just by talking — no typing, no forms, nothing to learn. Say something and she answers out loud, and she remembers you next time.
People carry whole worlds around with them and almost none of it gets written down. Not because nobody cares — because sitting down to write a memoir is a mountain, and nobody climbs it. But talking is easy. Everyone can talk.
So Maddie asks, and listens, and remembers. Talk to her for an hour or a thousand hours; either way what you said becomes a book you can hold. She was built for people in their eighties and nineties, which means she has to be patient, and kind, and she can never make anyone feel stupid.
She is yours to use. That is the gift — no charge, no trial, nothing to cancel.
Talk to Maddie
Maddie keeps each person’s stories separate and private, so she needs to know who you are. We’ll email you a link — no password.
Maddie is a computer program, not a person. She is here to listen, and she will ask you things as you go.
Not sure what to say? Just talk. Or say “help”, or “ask me a question”. If something bothers you, say “feedback” — it comes straight to me.
Before you get going
She cannot get help. Maddie is not a medical, crisis or monitoring service, and nobody is alerted by anything you say to her. In an emergency call 911. In a crisis, call or text 988.
What is kept
Your voice and your words are recorded and kept for you, so they can become your book. You can have all of it back, or all of it deleted, whenever you ask.
It is all yours, always
Every time you ask for a chapter, you get two things: the chapter, and the complete transcript of everything either of you has ever said — word for word, from the very first thing, every single time. Nothing is held back and nothing is summarised away.

About me
Keeping this free
Maddie above costs real money to run every time someone talks to her, and it is free because I would rather it were. I have built this mostly alone and mostly unpaid, and it has got further than I expected.
If you would like to help keep it free — and keep me going while I build the rest — you can. Ko-fi will offer you a one-off amount or a monthly one; either is welcome and neither buys anything. There are no tiers here, no perks, and nothing you get that someone who gives nothing does not.
So you know exactly who you would be giving to: I build Maddie through two organisations — Obsidian Delta, which makes the machinery, and the DAX Foundation, which holds the part a company should not. This page is neither of them. It is me, personally, paying for strangers to use Maddie for nothing.
Obsidian Delta has donated the base version of Maddie for this demonstration. Money sent here supports me personally — not the Foundation and not the company.
If the panel above does not load, open Ko-fi directly.
